Poll - Should we continue Cajun Music Radio social network?

Recently one of our members posted a reply to a blog post and suggested one of our paying members go to Pandora to get their music for free. Very strange since all members can already get authentic Cajun music here at Cajun Music Radio for free.

I am writing this blog post to ask the community here if that is the general opinion. Should we delete this community and the Cajun Music Social Network? We have been broadcasting free Cajun music online for nearly six months now and we have also had a paid commercial free membership option available. Only a couple of people signed up for the commercial free membership and now some members are recommending others go to Pandora (which I'm sure does not even know what Cajun music is)...

We also provided a donation option to let people support us that way. Only one donation came in over two months.

So my questions is: Do any of the 575 members here really care about the community enough to help it stay online? If members only want 'free' music then we can discontinue the paid VIP members option. If no one ever plans to help support the social network then we can just put up a link to the free stream and discontinue the social network a free features it provides.

I really would like your feedback. If this post gets no responses then I will take that as a no.

Thanks;
Allen

I've noticed that these kinds of sites are often joined and then no action. I'm not sure what that means, but it would be nice to just keep it going. Myself, I just discovered this, me. Yes, more interaction would help but how to generate it? Doesn't anyone have anything to say?

If it takes a little money to keep it on at whatever level, I'll help. Right now, and for a while my PC has not produced ANY sound. I suppose it will eventually get fixed, but that isn't a priority rt. now. When it does I will be a daily listener. My history with Cajun Music goes back to when KVPI in Ville Platt had the Rendevous de Cajan on Sat afternoons from the Four Roses Tavern in Duson. Man, those was de days.

Hi,Allen I just join yesterday you are doing the cajun culture and music a great service.I am not a paid member yet but will be soon.I am a member of The Cajun French Music Association (New Orleans Chapter) we are dedicated to promoting cajun music and culture so it will continue to live. As you know our french speaking relatives where our teachers and are getting up in age or dying off.We need to get our children and young involved before it is to late and our heritage is lost. The CFMA has done some great things like sending kids to study at St.Anns in Canada,supporting them by getting musical instruments donated,and teaching cajun speaking & dance.Cajun Music Radio is doing the same by continuing to broadcast true cajun music so everyone can appreciate what cajun music truly is and means. Thanks Mike
