So glad to be here in this network. My name is Paul and I live in Assumption Parish, in the small community of Klotzville, about 1 mile up on Highway 1 from Paincourtville. We are known as the "Bayou Cajuns" being up and down Bayou LaFourche on the eastern side of the Spillway.
My hobbies are God,
Collecting Cajun music in any format.
Playing accordion (still in learning mode)
and Waymarking, which is a " way to mark unique locations on the planet and give them a voice. While GPS technology allows us to pinpoint any location on the planet, mark the location, and share it with others, Waymarking is the toolset for categorizing and adding unique information for that location. Groundspeak's slogan is "The Language of Location" and our goal is to give people the tools to help others share and discover unique and interesting locations on the planet. We invite you to share your part of the world with us through Waymarking.com. " (direct quote from the FAQ page on

From Cajun Music, I grew extremely intrested in the diverse history of the great state of Louisiana.
From Indian (Native American) French, Spanish, Africian, German, etc... I started photographing State Historical Markers (Highway Markers). In looking for a place to post the photos, I stumbeld across Waymarking. I then became intrested in the National Register of Historic Places in Louisiana (Thanks to some great help from 2 fellow Waymarkers) I started to locate, photograph and post them also.
Then came Catholic Churches, Post Offices. They are all listed on Waymarking, and weather permitting, and if all chores are done, every weekend I'll be out scouring a new or following up in an area of our state to learn of local history and in my small way, pass that along to others.
My Cajun roots (german ancestory) I always enjoyed and listened to Cajun and Swamp Pop. From Nathan Absire, my hero, to the Balfas to Horace Trahan, I'll listen to ANY cajun, Swamp Pop and Zydeco. I love it all.
I am still learning the Accordion, attempting to fulfill a promise I made to my brother, who died Oct. 05, 2008, VERY suddenly and unexpectedly, to become good enough to record a CD. (Long Way to go!!)
My other "hobby" is God, which is the reason I live and breathe. I fell I am far away from Him, but I know HE is so close to me.
Thanks for inviting me and I hope to someday meet some of you. Maybe as I drive around Waymarking, I'll run into you!!
