In the 50's my Dad used to sing a song that I have never heard anywhere else. He also had the song on his reel to reel collection—long since lost. May have some Cajun music origin or it could be just an obscure country song. I would sing along and I remember some of the words. I can't find the lyrics anywhere on the net. I remember it as a two chord song—1st and 5th. I use G and D. Here are some of the lyrics remembered phonetically by a childs ear.

Hey Shad, hey ha ha, roc roc posay hey moyah. Oh Shad, Where have you gone? I've gone down the bayou gonna marry long John.
